The Powerpoint slides for the talk are here (8.8 MBytes). (The movies aren't embedded in the file, though; please let me know if you'd like to have copies of them.)
Suggested reading:
- There are many good introductory articles in the Encyclopedia of Astronomy and Astrophysics. I've attempted to reduce the list down to three articles of general relevance, but I won't guarantee that my ITC lunch talk will cover the exact same ground. Copies of these three articles are linked here:
- An introduction to the solar wind.
- An overview of observational manifestations of solar activity in the heliosphere.
- A more theoretical summary of magnetic reconnection.
- Michele Dougherty of Imperial College, London, has written a very nice 14-page handout on the Sun and space physics (PDF format; 2 Mbytes; original version here), mainly for undergraduates.
- Lots more regarding my own work on coronal heating, solar wind acceleration, MHD turbulence, and collisionless wave-particle interactions can be found on my main web page.
